Hiking suggestions

There are many fine walks in the area, ranging from
short tours to several-day hikes, well laid out with marked
paths and accommodation with food. the paths, signposted
by the Tourist Association, connect the different areas in the region.

The mountain logdes and the touristinformation will
give suggestions on hikes, also others than you
find here. To the right you will find maps suitable
for walks in our area.

Aursjoen kulturstig

Start by car park at the top of Aursjovegen road in Skjåk. Light walk, barely 2 hours, past streams and lakes. Information boards about cultural heritage sites. 5,5 kms.

Besseggen

Besseggen is Norways second most hiked walk and has a special place in norwegian culture and outdoor tradition. The spectacular walk on the ridge between the Bessvatn and the Gjende lake is of intermediate difficultay and takes 7 to 9 hours.
