Nasjonalparkriket consists of six municipalities in the northern part of the valley Gudbrandsdalen: Skjåk, Lom, Vågå, Sel, Dovre and Lesja. This area holds six national parks. Rondane National Park, est. 1962, is the oldest one in Norway, and Jotunheimen National Park is the most visited national park in Norway. They are, together with the national parks Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella, Dovre, Reinheimen and Breheimen, the high point of Norwegian mountain nature. The national park trail takes you through majestic scenery. Along the route you will find attractions well worth a visit.
