About

Røisheim hotel is a historic boutique Hotel, situated close to Jotunheimen National Park and about 15 minutes drive from Lom. Røisheim has a long tradition both as a refuge for travellers between the western and eastern Norway as well as the natural base for mountaineers.

Røisheim consists of altogether 14 buildings in a farmyard from the 1700s –creating a unique atmosphere. Røisheim has a long tradition of taking care of the discerning, adventurous mountain tourist – whether they want to climb the peaks of Jotunheimen, or seek the atmosphere and renowned kitchen of the old, protected coaching house.

It is not difficult to understand why famous artists like Grieg, Ibsen, Thaulow and Munthe fell in love with this place as early as a hundred years ago. After 150 years as a coaching station and hotel, Røisheim is still among the most unique small hotels Norway has to offer. Tar painted houses in a lush landscape, and rooms restored with piety. The hosts make sure that guests are taken care of in the very best way. An expedition to the Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind mountains is on many people’s wish list during their stay. But Røisheim is still a love that attracts people just by being itself – of cultural historic origins.

Among the historic buildings at Røisheim, you can also find a small chapel. The chapel is open daily for guests and offers the possibility for contemplation and meditation. The chapel can be a romantic place for small weddings.

20 unique rooms in 14 different small historic houses. You can order a room og suite tailored to fit your taste –  including fireplaces, unique view, traditional beds as well as four-poster silk fitted beds and a historic atmosphere, but still supplying the quality and high standard you expect. Each room has a private bath room – some with wooden bath tubs.

Culinary experience
Every day Røisheim offers a unique culinary experience. A 4-course menu is served every evening based on local food – game and vegetables in session. Røisheim has a wine cellar that offers wines from different regions and varieties. A wine menu can be ordered – to suit the menu of the day. A Norwegian traditional breakfast is served from early in the morning. Included is also a possibility to make your own lunch bag.
