Transport - how to get to Lom and Jotunheimen?
Jotunheimen National Park is centrally located in the middle of Norway. The Nation Park Village Lom is easily accessible from Norway’s major cities Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. Public transport is a good and affordable way to reach Jotunheimen.
Car:
The easiest way to get to and around in Jotunheimen national park is to drive a car. Follow the road E6 from Oslo or Lillehammer to Otta. Take the road Rv. 15 Strynefjellet til Lom.
From Bergen, follow E16 by Lærdal. Three of Norway's national tourist routes pass through Jotunheimen; Sognefjellsvegen (Fv 55), the old Strynefjellsvegen (Fv 258) and Valdresflya (Fv. 51)
Train:
Otta and Doverbanen are the closest train stations. From Otta train station, there are local buses to various destinations in the Jotunheimen area.

Bus:
You can reach the Jotunheimen area by daily express buses from Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. During summer time, local buses takes you the starting point for the most popular hiking areas.

The Haute Route Shuttle Bus:
- takes you to the mountains - and back home!
The minibus has capacity for 16 persons including luggage. If there's a lot of baggage, the bus can bring trailers at no additional cost. There is a fixed price for driving regardless of the number of passengers.

Boat:
The Gjende Boat: On Lake Gjende, the boats «Gjende III» and «Gjendine» transport thousands of eager hikers every year into one of the most popular areas of Jotunheimen with the famous Besseggen Ridge. The boats have corresponding connections with public transportation to and from Fagernes.

Services:
There are two gas stations in Lom National Park Village. The convenience stores found in theese filling stations sell candy, soft drinks, snacks and a small selection of grocery items.
