About

The old family farm Elveseter has received guests since the 1870’s. Throughout the last century the farm has been transformed into one of the most unique hotels in Norway.

The Elveseter family has always been interested in art, and through several generations the hotel has built up a unique collection of paintings and art objects. We offer our guests an experience combining unique art, good food and spectacular nature for memorable visits.

In magnificient Jotunheimen right under Galdhøpiggen you find one of the most spectacular hotels in Norway, Elveseter Hotel. The old freehold farm hosted its first guests at the end of the 19th century. During the last 100 years the farm has been altered to a hotel.

The cultural heritage has been well taken care of. The family has built up a great collection of cultural treasures from many countries, giving the sitting-rooms a special atmosphere, where we hope you will relax and feel at home. Every building and room have got their names from Norse mythology, appearing as a home of gods and giants. Due to old Gudbrandsdal building traditions, all houses are placed around the beautiful yard, where you also find Yggrasil, "the tree carrying Elveseter on it`s roots".

After a day in beautiful and wild Jotunheimen you may relax in the lounges of the hotel or visit Urdabrunnen, the hotel bar, to seek wisdom and clear-sightedness, followed by an appropriate meal in Valhall, worthy the old gods.
