About

Skimhytta is an easily accessible hiking destination from Lom center. This trip is in easy terrain and is also ideal for families with children.

Starting point: Lom center or car park by Tronoddbrua
Km (one way): From the center: 2.8 km / From Tronoddbrua: 1.2 km
Time (one way): From the center: about 30-45 minutes / From Tronoddbrua: about 20-30 minutes.

The trip to Skimhytta is an easily accessible trip that runs along Lake Skim, on the opposite side of Lom center. The ladder is well marked and well prepared, so this is a great trip for people of all ages - also for families with small children.

From the city center: Start the trip from the Norwegian Mountain Center, and follow the signs to Tronoberget. After crossing the Utleggsbrua bridge, follow the gravel road that runs along the river until you meet the road. Then follow this over Tronoddbrua, where you will find the starting point for the trip.
Alternatively: You can drive a car, or cycle, to the parking lot at Tronoddbrua and start the trip from here.

After 1.2 km from the starting point at Tronoddbrua you reach Skimhytta. This isa little hut that is open to everyone, but you have to bring your own firewood to fire up and of course bring rubbish home.
Down by the lake it is nice to swim and relax, and you have a great view of Læshøe, Lomseggen and Skjåk.

From Skimhytta you can also follow the ladder further towards Staurustberget (in the direction of Skjåk), if you want a longer trip.

Good trip!
